Fresh U.S. attacks on Iran during Doha negotiations

The U.S. military says that yesterday it carried out strikes, which have been called defensive attacks, on southern parts of Iran, targeting Iran's missile launching sites and ships in the Strait of Hormuz that were attempting to lay mines. These attacks were carried out at a time when the parties claimed significant progress in peace talks, but the final decision was to be made today in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
